Charity Ride – Update

The weather was great, and we snuck in the ride to support the charity just before Cardiff went into it’s local lockdown. Check out our charity ride update…

It was a strange feeling to do the ride without the large group, but myself and two other riders met up to ride for the Gentleman’s Ride charity (a worldwide effort supported by over 54,000 riders this year). We observed the regulations with regard to Covid 19 and managed to get the ride into Cardiff done before the new local restrictions came into place.

We raised £628 for the charity thanks to the very generous donations of friends, family, and many of our clients who kindly supported us in this difficult time. To them all we say a really huge thank you. It’s so appreciated. That amount raised put us 610th in the world out of the 54.000 so that’s not too bad is it…

Here’s hoping that next year the ride can be a full group effort again as the sheer number of bikes and riders out in a large group really helps make the point about men’s health in a way the solo rides this year could not.

The charity supports a range of men’s health issues from prostate cancer to mental health services and suicide prevention programs. Did you know it’s generally accepted that men die on average 6 years earlier than women and for largely preventable reasons?

Donations can still be made if you would like to support the charity by visiting my donation page at  https://www.gentlemansride.com/rider/JeffPatreane376795 (No longer Taking Donations)…

Thank you again to all who supported us this year.
