Sophie Potter is known for her beautiful and unique illustrations, and her work is spring brought to life. To top it off, Sophie is also a local artist and is based just around the corner from us in Cardiff.

Sophie is all about bringing nature, and her travels, to life. She has spoken about how her work has been inspired by the diverse world of flowers, the rich Welsh landscape as well as her time spent in studying and living Japan.

Her paintings and drawings are on paper, plywood, and canvas and are filled with a palette of light, joyful colours, and textures. I particularly like how she shows the process for her designs from start to finish—often giving her Instagram followers a sneak peek at her initial hand-drawn sketches and doodles.

Sophie also collaborates with local businesses to create playful illustrations including for large scale murals, surface designs, books, and much more. And has even worked with the NHS and the Welsh National Opera!
