Vector Files

Why providing vector files to your designer is important…

When working with a graphic designer to craft your brand’s visual elements, providing your logo file in a vector format is not just a preference—it’s essential.

Vector files, unlike raster images (files like JPEGs etc), are resolution-independent. This simply means that they can be scaled infinitely without losing quality. This scalability ensures that your logo looks crisp and professional across all mediums, whether it’s displayed on a business card or blown up on a billboard or even the side of a building.

The files to look out for are AI (Adobe Illustrator), EPS (Encapsulated PostScript), PDF (Portable Document Format – not always a guarantee it’ll work but worth a shot), and SVG (Scalable Vector Graphics).

By supplying your designer with a vector file, you’re giving them the flexibility to adapt your logo to various sizes and contexts, maintaining its integrity and impact.

In short, when you provide your logo as a vector file, you’re ensuring consistent and high-quality representation of your brand and values.
