OxEd – Teaching Handbook

We worked with OxEd & Assessment to produce a 200+ page Welsh-language teaching handbook. Their evidence-based tools help schools in England & Wales identify oral language needs early, deliver effective support, and ensure every child has the chance to succeed in school and in life.

Our brief was 204 page, Welsh language, tight deadlines, and very little time contingency.

We took the existing design and gave it a bit more life. We then reworked the layout details to make sections easier to find and each lesson easier to follow, without losing what was already working.

The real challenge of course was getting it done in time. With little room for delays, we worked through the document section by section, proofing and amending in parallel with excellent input from the client as we went. That partnership and approach was a large part of what ensured it got delivered on time.

Large, technical projects like this are where good project management is particularly important (as much as good design), and we enjoyed the challenge.

The finished handbook provides OxEd & Assessment with a substantial, classroom-ready Welsh resource, helping to extend their language development support to Welsh-speaking schools and learners.
