All our design work is based on usability and functionality foremost, we then pair that with appropriate style and aesthetics to suit your market and the required perceptions of the brand.
Understand
Discuss and understand the reasoning for, along with the requirements and goals of the required work. Get a clear understanding of current market position and where the organisation sees its future using any existing research/analysis etc. Discuss the hurdles to overcome and the needs of the organisation internally and externally. Design our collaboration and collateral around this understanding.
Challenge
We believe good design is disruptive. We challenge assertions and
the often deeply held beliefs. With focussed questioning we can help
uncover the validity of those beliefs and discover a picture of the
organisation, brand, culture and the people behind it.
Analyse
Look at competitors’ marketing and find the positives and negative of
those markets communications etc. Understand how your organisation ’fits’ into that market and look at your strengths and weaknesses within that space.
Position
Decide on the most important aspects/personality of the brand to
communicate. Develop design that answers the outcomes from the
above that ensures the organisation sits in the ideal position within your
existing and future markets.
Develop
In collaboration with your team we can then develop the visual styles
of the brand, along with specific communications tools such as posters,
banner, exhibition materials, brochures etc. We also create websites as
well.
Communicate
Design is communication through not only the overall visual look, but the
copy, the images, and how each piece works for the user. As an example: for websites we start with simple easy to use navigation, how easy is it to get to the information needed? What products or services need to be most prominent? What stories do we need to tell? And more.
This overarching approach of function then form is used for all materials, from a simple business card or email footer, to brochures and internal marketing etc.
Collaborate
All of our best work is the product of balanced collaboration between
the clients, consultants and ourselves. One thing we are not, is typically
ego-driven ‘designers’. This is an important facet to not only who we are
but what we do and the work we produce. We don’t create design for ourselves. Our designs are for the client and most importantly their customers. Design is not art (though it can be artistic) and should not be too open to too many subjective feelings, rather based where possible on clear objective decision making. It is about clear communications, creating engagement, and promoting the values, skills and benefits of using an organisation or company. Collaboration is key to a great outcome.
Care
We believe in long term relationships and so our after-care is paramount
to us. We’re here from the start onwards. Once projects are delivered
we love to keep in touch and see how they were received and then help
improve them though constant iteration where required.
We’d love to chat and discuss your project’s needs…
