Where do we begin with the work we’ve created for Barnardo’s? To start with the work is often very sensitive in nature. We have helped develop publications, videos, motion graphics, audio recordings, large publications, a board game, large print work and more.

Barnardo’s

Each piece starts with a clear goal or need to meet. Then we need to fully understand the nature of the material covered. These publications are often for stakeholders of vulnerable children. So each piece has to be carefully considered to not cause any re-traumatisation when it’s used by a vulnerable individual or trauma suffers.

Most recently we’ve completed a 1 hour motion graphic teaching video and a supporting 60+ page workbook centring around the Welsh Assembly’s new framework for Trauma, especially helping organisation large and small become ‘trauma informed’.

Close consideration is given to each aspect of this work, from visuals to music and sounds effects to ensure the feel is exactly right. Dynamic enough, realistic enough, yet not in any way becoming a cause for reliving a trauma through improper use of visuals or audio cues for example.

While we are not experts in any of these fields, we work with the team at Barnardo’s to understand and learn about the subject first, then work with the team to produce and iterate the project to a final output.

This was a bilingual English and Welsh project.
