It was a pleasure to speak at the recent South Wales Federation of Small Business Annual Conference at the Village Hotel in Cardiff.

We were approached by the FSB, after giving a talk about branding and giving some help on how to spot good design (and not so good design) at a smaller event, to join them at their next annual conference. We happily agreed to give a 20-minute talk on branding and design, specifically the way branding can help you gain and keep customers (as part of a suite of activities of course), but also how branding should be really thought through and ‘designed’ to ensure the image your organisation projects out, is in line with the perceptions your market place has of your product or service.

Also, how careful branding can even help you with credibility, trust, even how your price your product or service.

We especially enjoyed the Q and A after the talk, there’s never quite enough time to answer everything, but it was lovely to have so many questions fired at us by the delegates. 

We also had some lovely feedback on the day from the FSB itself and various delegates, who mentioned how practical and helpful the session was. So that was great to hear. Anything to help demystify the world of design and branding is always enjoyable.

We were part of six talks that day covering various aspects of: mental health in the workplace, branding, marketing, LinkedIn expertise/sales, AI developments and the usage cases for AI, and more.

Sian Lloyd also put in a great turn as host of the day, and our thanks go out to the whole FSB team for a great day. We met quite a few people that day who we’ll definitely be staying in touch with.
